Contact

Email is the only way in, and it is genuinely read. There is no contact form on this site and no newsletter.

Ask about a book

Write to hello@oakleafbindery.online with:

  • Three photographs: closed front, spine, first opening.
  • Roughly how thick the book is, and how heavy it feels.
  • What it is for — shelf, daily reading, scanning, a gift.
  • Any deadline, honestly stated.

You will get a reply within a few working days. In busy months that is closer to a week, and if the answer is “not us, try a conservation laboratory”, you will get that answer just as quickly.

Visits

Tuesday to Friday, by appointment, in Amsterdam. There is no shop front. Say in advance what you are bringing so the right tools are on the bench instead of in a drawer.

Trade enquiries

Small publishers and printers: send the page size, extent, paper and the number of copies, and say whether the sheets will arrive folded. Six weeks is a realistic lead time for a sewn edition of fifty; less than that usually means glue, and we would rather say no.
